A man fleeing from a retail theft punched a police officer, authorities announced on Friday, July 21, 2023.
Jorge Luis Nieves-Ortiz of Ramsay Place, New Cumberland, was seen committing theft at a store in the 300 block of Lewisberry Road on Jul 9, according to a police release.
When the Fairview Township Police Department first arrived and attempted to arrest the 24-year-old "he punched an Officer in the chest and attempted to get away," the police said.

Ericka Williams, 26, Amin Shamsid-Deen, 30, and Tunisia Amina Shamsid-Deen, 32, were found with Givenchy and Louis Vuitton bags and YSL perfume all totaling approximately $15,000, when police in Fairfax County stopped them on Thursday, July 13.

Walmart Employees Steal $2.2K+ In Merch From PA Store, Police Say
Two women stole over $1,000 each in merchandise from a Central Pennsylvania Walmart, the police announced on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Shanterry Lynette Woodard and Nataly Danielle Rodriguez-Altache stole the merchandise from the Walmart located at 1000 Town Center Drive, according to West Manchester Township police.
Over several months, Woodward stole $1190.60 and Rodriguez-Altache stole $1038.22 for a total of $2228.82 worth of merchandise, the police explained.
Both women were employed by Walmart when they were caught on June 5, 2023, according to the police.
