Terrance Dougherty, 36, of Oyster Bay, was arraigned on fraud and related charges in Nassau County Court on Wednesday, April 30, stemming from a case that District Attorney Anne Donnelly decried as a “disgraceful abuse of trust.”

A disgraced Long Island attorney won’t spend a day behind bars after confessing he stole $25,000 from a real estate escrow account.
Peter Saad Jr., 48, of Calverton, pleaded guilty to grand larceny in Suffolk County on Wednesday, April 16.
Saad, a former Riverhead attorney who has since been disbarred, represented the seller in a home sale in 2020. Because of unresolved permit issues, all parties agreed that $25,000 would be held in Saad’s escrow account until those issues were resolved.

The Padded Wagon building, a recognizable industrial site with a giant sign towering over Route 80 in Paterson, is officially for sale.
The historic complex at 61 State St., known formally as Reinhardt Mills, hit the market with a $13 million asking price, according to listing broker Homer De Leon of The Marmarou Team.
