A late-night compliance check at a Long Island restaurant led to multiple arrests and narcotics charges, police announced on Saturday, April 4.
Seven people — including the owner, an employee, and several patrons — were taken into custody following the operation at La Costa Catracha Restaurant on Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood, according to Suffolk County Police.

Driver Tampered With Evidence After Hit-Run That Killed Freeport Man: Cops
A 40-year-old homeless man has been arrested in a hit-and-run crash that left a 66-year-old man dead, authorities said.
Narciso Guerra Lopez, 66, was crossing Merrick Road in Freeport when he was hit by an a vehicle traveling east around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, Nassau County police said.
Lopez suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, and later died from his injuries, police said.
