A father’s girlfriend has been charged in the 1993 homicide of his 2-year-old son, the Berks County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025.
Sandra Guadalupe-Castro, 57, of Reading, was arrested and charged with Murder of the First Degree and Murder of the Third Degree after detectives reopened the decades-old case under the county’s Cold Case Initiative.

A missing Westmoreland County woman was found safe in Kentucky overnight, and the man accused of kidnapping her twice in one week has been arrested, Scottdale Police announced on Saturday, Oct. 4.
Shawn Prince, 29, of Scottdale, is facing charges of kidnapping, simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment, according to police.
The department on Friday night asked for the public’s help in locating Lydia Nelson Prince, 48, after her family reported they hadn’t heard from her since Thursday afternoon. Police believed she could be traveling in a red Subaru Impreza.

A police officer and a former township public works official are facing felony charges after investigators say they rigged bids and stole township vehicles in Upper Southampton, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Derek J. Gale, 47, of Morrisville, a current Upper Southampton Township police officer, and Brandon F.
