Woman Hospitalized After Snake Bite In Hunterdon County:

A 25-year-old woman was hospitalized after being bitten by a snake in Hunterdon County on Wednesday, July 24, authorities said. At 9:59 a.m., police responded to a report of an animal bite at a residence on County Road 519 in Kingwood Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Police found a 25-year-old woman who had sustained minor injuries from a snake bite and she was transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The incident remains under investigation, Lebron said. Fisherman Stuck In Mud Rescued In Hunterdon County: Authorities
A young fisherman certainly got more than he bargained for in Hunterdon County on Sunday, July 21. The fisherman had to be rescued after he got stuck in the mud in Lake Solitude, the High Bridge Fire Department said on Facebook. The manmade lake has become filed with sill, the fire department said. Animals Rescued After Trailer Crashes Into Hunterdon County Barn: Authorities
Numerous animals had to be rescued after an 18-wheeler crashed into a barn in Hunterdon County on Monday, July 22, authorities said. At 9 a.m., the Whitehouse Rescue Squad in Readington responded to a report of a tractor crashing into a barn, they said in a release. The trailer of an 18-wheeler broke free from a tractor, overturning and then striking the barn, first responders said. Numerous animals were inside and crews removed chickens, goats and other birds from the structure to a safe location, outside a potential collapse zone, first responders said. 1,800+ Hunterdon County Residents Without Power
More than 1,800 Hunterdon County residents were without power Wednesday evening, July 17. It wasn't immediately clear if the outages were caused by storms being forecast to sweep across the region. As of 8:45 p.m., JCP&L said 1,200 customers were without power in Pittstown; 248 in Franklin; about 600 north of East Amwell; and hundreds of others in various towns from High Bridge out to the Pennsylvania border. Worker, 22, Killed While Operating Tree Equipment At Cemetery In Hunterdon County: Prosecutor
A 22-year-old Flemington man was killed while operating tree-chipping equipment at a cemetery on Wednesday, July 10, authorities said. At 6:20 p.m., police responded to Saint Magdalen Cemetery in Flemington and found Eonias Mateo-Perez dead from his injuries, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said. His death was accidental, authorities said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating, authorities said.

A 45-year-old Easton, PA man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Tuesday, July 2, authorities said. At 10:04 p.m., a BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Greenwich Township struck the back of a 2017 Toyota Camry, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said.
