The number of jobs in Connecticut shot up dramatically over July - with the addition of 26,500 net new positions. That’s the good news. The bad news is that there are 146,300 fewer jobs in Connecticut now than there were compared to a year ago. Four Hudson Valley school districts may be spared from paying about $19 million in fines due to late paperwork on construction projects. The state Assembly gave its approval on Tuesday, June 4 to legislation freeing the Orange County school districts of Newburgh and Chester, as well as the Sullivan County school district in Monticello. Police have called off the investigation of late Rockaway Mayor Michael Dachisen's township-issued laptop and iPhone, which went missing after his sudden death last August. Local authorities said there is no security risk and are concentrating on more important matters, the DailyRecord reports.
