DUI Driver Downs Live Wires On Route 4 In Teaneck, Captured Nearby After Fleeing, Sheriff Says
An intoxicated driver who crashed into a utility pole and bus stop on Route 4 in Bergen County on Sunday evening, March 30, was arrested and charged with after fleeing the scene, authorities said.
The crash happened around 6:40 p.m. on Route 4 East at River Road, Bergen County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Kyra Pazant said.
The vehicle struck a utility pole, a guardrail, and a NJ Transit bus stop, snapping the pole on impact and sending live wires across the River Road on and off ramps, Pazant said. The right lane of Route 4 East and both ramps were shut down.

Officers were dispatched to the area of the 100 block of Madison Drive in Newark around 11:58 p.m. on Friday, March 28, for a report of a vehicle crash involving several parked vehicles, according to a statement from the Newark Police Department.

A Maryland woman who was drunk behind the wheel when she crashed her minivan, killing a child and injuring two others, has been convicted of felony manslaughter, authorities announced.
